A walk through the city…

I headed out today with no particular destination in mind.  Bucharest is a very large city, there is no possibility for me to see everything.  So I decided to head out on foot through the city.  Here are some of the things that I saw.

Heading down an old street that is made of old stone… notice the parallel parking up on the curb.

Another street… cafe on the left.  There are many local cafes and pubs on every corner.

This is a military building…

This building was unique, it was old style on the bottom and modern on the top…

Since I could not read anything, I am not really sure what this structure represents…

This is a Philharmonic Hall… It was closed, I want to go back and see the inside. Maybe today…

I was walking down a back street and noticed this Jeep… and the Florida plates, that was an expensive boat ride I am sure!

One of the many old churches in the city…

This is the Romanian Bank building…

An old walkway through the Historic district…

The old communist leader tore down much of old Bucharest to build new structures.  This was a monument where an old church once stood on what is now a tram transfer station.

On the same site there was this monument with a cross…

And from the other side…

Then I came a across a Jewish Synagogue…

Then I ran across two Mormon missionaries…

They were handing out flyers…

That is all I have for today.  I will try and post more later.  Trying to stay busy so I do think of how much I miss being home… I do not like idle time!
